About Us.
In late 2022, a group of Cape May friends gathered to discuss the state of politics, locally and across the country. Time and again, one question emerged: What can we do about it? By the year’s end, after brainstorming with other Democratic community members, the Cape Island Democratic Club (CIDC) was officially established. Eighteen busy months later, CIDC now has more than 100 members from municipalities across the southern end of Cape May County. Galvanized by its enthusiastic reception and early successes, CIDC founding officers are confident that, together, Cape May area Democrats can usher change that benefits all.
Three years later (January 2026)… the Club has exceeded 315 members and continues to grow. The 2026 team is led by Mary Pat Myers, Lee Zektzer, Kim Gibbons and Laurel Nuschke.
